Abstract
The multimodal imaging approach has great potential to be utilized in advanced biomedical imaging applications since it provides detailed information about biological and disease-related events through a combination of complementary imaging techniques with advantages including spatial and temporal resolution, high sensitivity, penetration depth, capability of real time monitoring under operating conditions, and high throughput. Accordingly, it is an important technological issue in the nanotechnology field to develop integrated nanoparticles that are capable of multiple imaging modes with complimentary properties.
